Proposal No. 11302017-1

For more than 40 years, the Downtown Development District of New Orleans has led the economic development of the area.

Downtown NOLA seeks to generate an accurate, longitudinal report of the local economy to be able to answer the question, "how are we progressing?"

This proposal outlines a complete data reporting solution that solves core data challenges that have been an issue in the past, and creates an engaging report to attract business and inform stakeholders.

Project Outcomes

Specifically, Downtown NOLA would like to:

  • Solve core data challenges and be able to answer the question "how are we progressing?" as told through data.
  • Produce a custom area report of the downtown development district (comprised of one complete and two partial census tracts; see map below).
  • Publish a range of data points on demographics, economy, and trends (detailed list below).
  • Compare the Orleans parish to region and state benchmarks.

How eImpact analyzes data for custom regions

Where clients require a custom region to report data, we use that region's shape to analyze and quantify the underlying data.

For the Downtown NOLA District (shown at right in yellow), we use this analysis method to quantify the data from one complete census tract (blue shape) and two partial tracts (red and green).
