SUMMARY

The Virginia Manufacturers Association is the advocate for manufacturers across the state, providing critical services from legislative affairs to workforce development. Uniquely, VMA is an industry thought leader with data-driven strategies such as the Manufacturers Competitiveness Index.

VMA seeks to add economic data, summarized by House and Senate state districts, to its data capabilities.

Doing so will help VMA be even more effective in lobbying for manufacturers, and further cement its thought leadership position.

SCOPE


Project Outcomes

Specifically, WMA would like to:

  • Generate state House and Senate district fact sheets for the State of Virginia
  • Feature key economic data points including employment, establishments, wages and more.
  • Use the fact sheets in campaigns throughout the year
  • Maximize mindshare with legislators during short 45-60 day sessions

Deliverables

  • State of Virginia Fact Sheets:
    • Fact sheets with data quantified by state district
    • Employment, wages, establishments and other key economic data
    • Data visualizations including interactive charts, maps and other widgets
    • Pre-formatted fact sheets for legislative districts with editable "talking points" sections
    • Can be embedded on website (copy/paste code provided) as well as printed
    • Secure cloud hosting

  • Collection of all data, including automated feeds to keep data current over time
  • Historical trend data from previous 4 years 
  • Support for integration into website (embed code provided for each report)
  • Training and support for report editing tools




Process

  • Part 1: On-boarding
    • Identify and load data sources
    • Set up data feeds and load supplementary data 
  • Part 2: Report Creation
    • Complete district fact sheet set
    • Support the integration of the reports into website (embed codes provided)
  • Part 3: Training 
    • Report editing tools: making changes, adding data, creating new reports

  • Report fee: $9,999 (renews annually)
    • Note: for clients that choose not to renew, reports can be exported as PDF files
